100 Acres Virginia B. Fairbanks
Art & Nature Park
Indianapolis Museum of Art

GDH is construction manager of the IMA’s Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park nicknamed 100 Acres, set to open in fall 2009. Located on untamed woodlands, wetlands, a lake and meadows adjacent to the Museum, the Park will be one of the largest of its kind in the U.S. and the only one to feature the ongoing commission of site-specific artworks. The Park will feature a 3,000-square-foot visitors’ center that will be LEED-certified. Architect Marlon Blackwell and landscape architect Edward Blake are working with the eight inaugural artists. Construction will begin in fall/winter ‘08.
