White River Gardens & Conservatory Indianapolis, Indiana
White River Gardens is a three-acre conservatory and garden complex in downtown Indianapolis. This project consisted of the construction of an outdoor garden area as well as a new 30,000 s.f. facility housing exhibit areas, the Conservatory, a restaurant, a resource center and a gift shop.
The signature piece of the Gardens is the 5,000 s.f., glass-enclosed Hilbert Conservatory which stands 65 feet in height and includes a 12-foot-high mezzanine level for viewing. The construction of the Conservatory included the erection of the painted steel superstructure with a standard single-glazed conservatory roof system and double-glazed aluminum curtainwall system.
